Download the latest version of Xcode from the Apple developer website or get it using the Mac App Store. Once you have Xcode installed, open a terminal, run xcode-select -install, and click the Install button to install the required command line developer tools. Xcode includes a new 'Downloads' preference pane to install optional components such as command line tools, and previous iOS Simulators. To open this pane click the 'Xcode' button in the top left of the screen near the Apple logo, then click 'Preferences', then click 'Downloads'. Xcode cannot determine this ahead of time since other projects may not have been built into the shared build directory at the time the information is needed. If your prefix file never includes files from the build directory you may set this to NO to improve sharing of precompiled headers.
